APWU Officers' Election Ends Oct. 5

Time is running short for members who have yet to vote in the APWU National Officers election. Ballots were mailed Sept. 12-15, and must be returned to and received in the designated post office box by 2 p.m. (Eastern Time), Oct. 5.

The APWU Election Committee will take custody of the ballots on Oct. 5, and the counting will begin. Unofficial, preliminary results will appear on www.apwu.org as they become available; official tallies will appear in the November/December issue of The American Postal Worker.

To rewards those that vote in the election at the highest percentages, the national union is sponsoring a voter-participation competition among locals and retiree chapters.

To be eligible, locals and retiree chapters must reach a voter participation level of at least 50 percent. If more than three locals in any category generate 100 percent participation, all "100%" locals will receive awards.

To help decide who will lead the union for the next three years, be sure to vote in this year's election of APWU national officers.

It's your union. VOTE!
